DDOT to Hold Recruiting Fair for School Crossing Guards
Interested Candidates Can Apply in Person September 18

WASHINGTON, DC — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is inviting qualified candidates to apply in-person for school crossing guard positions on Thursday, September 18, from 8 am to 2 pm, at the Franklin D. Reeves Center. DDOT is in the process of recruiting and hiring for additional positions that will be made available after October 1. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Crossing guards are stationed at their assigned locations from 8 am to 10 am, and again from 2 pm to 4 pm, to help students get to and from school safely. The position is a grade CS-02, with an hourly salary of $11.76 to $14.46. DDOT provides the crossing guards with uniforms, at least 12 hours of training, and Metro flash passes for transportation to their posts.

The Reeves Center is one block from the U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Metro Station on the Green and Yellow lines. It is also accessible via the following Metrobus lines: 52, 53, 54, 90, 92, 93, 96 and 98.
 
Interested candidates who apply in-person are asked to bring the following documents:

  1. Proof of income: a pay stub from a current or past employer; copy of a W-2 tax form; copy of a recent tax return; Social Security benefits summary; or unemployment benefits summary.
  2. Three professional references from current or former supervisors & coworkers (not relatives or friends).
