Day by day, the Anacostia waterfront is changing and significant enhancements are on the horizon. The 2nd Anacostia Waterfront Community Fair is part of an ongoing civic engagement program to keep District stakeholders informed and excited about developments along the seven-mile waterfront and to highlight the social and economic benefits that will flow citywide from a greener, revitalized waterfront.
Participants will have a diverse fair experience. Representatives from District government agencies, community-based organizations and developers will share information about waterfront construction projects, plans for new parks, green jobs, and many other improvements. Participants can also take free bus tours to several locations being revitalized on both sides on the waterfront, such as Poplar Point, Waterside (formerly Waterside Mall), Boathouse Row, and Southwest Waterfront. A schedule of the fair can be found at www.theanacostiawaterfront.com. Free parking and refreshments will be available at the stadium.
