REMINDER:  DDOT to Host First Open House
Series Begins in Ward 6 on Thursday, October 22

(Washington, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is embarking on a public outreach tour to all eight wards of the District to discuss the city’s transit future, including streetcars, and the first stop is in Ward 6 tomorrow night. DDOT is hosting an open house from 7 – 8:30 pm at J.O. Wilson Elementary School, 660 K Street, NE.

DDOT has already initiated construction on two streetcar lines, and the open house will give residents and businesses an opportunity to hear about the current progress and view updated plans for future streetcar lines and other exciting transportation investments across the District.

Ward 6 Meeting Information

What: Open House on DC’s Transit Future
When: Thursday, October 22, 2009, 7 pm – 8:30 pm
Where: J.O. Wilson Elementary School
660 K Street, NE

Wilson Elementary is accessible by public transportation. It is a few blocks from New York Avenue Metro Station on the Red Line and can also be reached on the following MetroBus routes: D4, D8, X2, X8, 90, 92, 93.

All open houses will begin at 7 pm and end at 8:30 pm. The program for all eight open houses is the same. It will consist of display boards, maps, information about the proposed system, and opportunities for participants to speak individually with and ask questions of project team members. The open houses are open to the public, and no RSVP is necessary.
