(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation announces the closure of the Southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) off-ramp at Exit 2, South Capitol Street, beginning on Thursday, November 2, 2006.  This ramp closure is caused by the ongoing bridge construction project.

Motorists are advised to access South Capitol Street by exiting the freeway at Exit 3, Suitland Parkway, and following the detour signs to Firth Sterling Avenue to South Capitol Street.

The ramp closure is expected to be in effect for about five months.
