DDOT Announces Closure of 34th Street Bridge to Pedestrians

(Washington, DC)  The District Department of Transportation announces the closure of the 34th Street Bridge to pedestrians for a one week period beginning Friday, November 3 and ending Friday, November 10, 2006. This closure is due to removal/abatement of the lead based paint on the bridge.  The tow path and stairs will remain open.

Emergency, No Parking signs will be posted on parking meters at the north end of the bridge prohibiting parking during this period.  The bridge is expected to reopen for pedestrian use on November 10.
