(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is set to begin safety work on the Kenilworth Avenue, NE, Pedestrian Bridge near Douglas Street.

The pedestrian bridge will undergo major repairs to the ramps and railing system. The work for this project includes both the northbound and southbound sides of the bridge.

DDOT encourages residents to use the adjacent two pedestrian bridges to cross Kenilworth Avenue.

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday May 14, 2007. Weather permitting all work will be completed by August 31, 2007.
