DDOT Announces Road Work in Ward 8 on South Capitol Street, SE

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises motorists and residents that roadway restoration began today on South Capitol Street, SE, from Malcolm X Avenue to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE.

Work is slated to be completed by September 30, 2007, weather permitting. Work will include the resurfacing of the roadway as well as curb and gutter replacements.

Hours of work are from 7:30 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday. At all times during construction at least one lane of traffic in both directions will remain open for use.

DDOT advises motorists to be safe and to stay alert when traveling through the work zone.
