Weekend Construction Work Continues on Kenilworth Avenue, NE, Saturday

Media Contact: Erik Linden, DDOT, 671-2004

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises residents, motorists, and pedestrians that brief weekend construction work is scheduled to take place along Kenilworth Avenue, NE, (Ward 7) this Saturday, August 25, 2007 near Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue.

The work is scheduled to begin at 7 am and be completed by around 4 pm. Work includes the relocation and replacement of a portable barrier on both the Northbound, and Southbound lanes, as well as the removal of sub-structure steel girder beams from Bridge 19-1 Low.  Work requires the closure of the left lane in both directions on Kenilworth Avenue as well as the closure of the Southeast Service Road ramp exiting northbound Kenilworth Avenue to Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue. DDOT reminds pedestrians and motorists to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
