Weekend Streetlight Repairs on Taft Bridge
Temporary lane closures Expected

Media Contact: Erik Linden, DDOT, 671-2004

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting streetlight repairs and general maintenance of the streetlights on the William Howard Taft Bridge tomorrow.

The William Howard Taft Bridge spans over Rock Creek Park on Connecticut Avenue just south of Calvert Street and north of Dupont Circle. Crews are scheduled to be working on Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 9 am to 3 pm.

Temporary lane closures are to be expected as crews access conduit and cables in feeder manholes and streetlight bases. Work zone safety will be in full effect as it will be necessary to shift traffic away from manholes.

During scheduled lane shifts both north and south bound lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

Motorists are asked to proceed with caution and stay alert of work crews as they proceed over the bridge.
