Nation’s Triathlon will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2007 in downtown Washington, DC. The Triathlon is a multi-sport race made up of three different sports; a 1.5k swim, a 40k bike race and a 10k foot race. The Swim takes place in the Potomac River near Thompson’s Boat House on Rock Creek Parkway. The Bike and Run portions will take place along the Rock Creek Parkway, East and West Potomac Park and downtown DC. Street closings on Pennsylvania Avenue will begin at 3:00 am. All other streets along the race course will be closed by 7:00 am. The race is scheduled to be completed by 1:00 pm.
The Race Course will be as follows:
The majority of the race will take place west of the White House, in East and West Potomac Parks and along Rock Creek Parkway.
All race activity will be west of 7th Street, NW with 7th Street remaining open to traffic.
