(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to begin construction work next week on Connecticut Ave, NW—from Belmont Road on the north side to K Street NW on the south side. Work is scheduled to begin on October 10, 2007.
The work in this heavily-traveled corridor will consist of the repair of damaged sidewalks, brick gutters, and wheelchair ramps. Work will also include the milling and resurfacing of the existing road pavement. Sidewalk work will take place between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm.
Milling and resurfacing work will occur between the hours of 7 pm to 5 am, weather permitting. Lane closures will occur during this time but traffic will be maintained in both directions. Flaggers will be present to help route traffic.
During construction, DDOT will work with those concerned to maintain access to the adjacent residences and businesses.
Work is slated to wrap up by November 10, 2007.
