Motorists Take Note of Multiple Weekend Events Closing District Streets

(Washington, DC) Be advised of closures below and if you’re driving, plan ahead before coming into the District this weekend. Also please note that most DDOT construction crews will be working regular schedules on Monday October 8, 2007 despite the holiday.

As previously announced, DDOT will be closing Foxhall Road in Northwest this weekend. For full information on that previously announced closure, click here.

Other closures and lane restrictions:

Saturday, October 6, 2007
DDOT work on New York Avenue, NE, between Penn Street, NE, and Florida Avenue, NE.

Work will entail lane restrictions from 9:30 pm on Saturday October 6, 2007 to 4 am on October 8, 2007. All lanes will reopen for traffic on Monday morning.

Also be advised of lane restrictions on Florida Avenue, NE, between New York Avenue and Third Street, NE, during the same time period. The lane closures are to accommodate resurfacing work following utility upgrades.

600 - 700 blocks 6th Streets, NW
500 - 600 blocks F Street, NW
Streets Closed: 6th Street, NW between E & G Streets
F Street, NW between 5th & 7th Street

Aids Walk Washington 2007
The Walk route will be as follows:

From the starting point eastbound on Pennsylvania Avenue at 13th Street, NW thence: East on Pennsylvania Avenue / South on 3rd Street, NW / West on D Street, SW / North on 4th
Street, SW / East on Independence Avenue, SW / North on 3rd Street, SW / West on
Pennsylvania Avenue and return to starting point.

Street Closings will be as follows:
Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 13th & 14th Streets
(3:00am to 3:00pm)
Other streets along the Walk route will be closed and re-opened as the walk proceeds.
Traffic crossing the walk route will be allowed as breaks in the walkers occur.
Route to be follow when Pennsylvania Avenue in front of Freedom Plaza is closed for Pre and Post Walk activities. 6:00am to 12:00 noon

The 23rd Annual U.S. Army 10 Miler begins and ends at the Pentagon Complex in Arlington, VA, and passes thru Potomac Park and along the Mall in Washington, DC.
