(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting necessary maintenance and emergency repairs on the northbound section of the 14th Street Bridge over the weekend.  Work is scheduled to begin on Saturday, January 26th at 5am and continue through until 5am Monday, January 28th with the bridge opening in time for morning rush hour.

DDOT crews will close two northbound lanes to travelers to assure public and workers safety.

DDOT advises all motorists to travel safely through the work zone.

Interstate Signage Improvements Continue along the I-395 Corridor                                                                     Temporary Ramp and Lane Closures Scheduled Throughout the Project

DDOT is scheduled to begin the final phase to install new travel signage along the I-395 corridor.

The new signs are being located at strategic intervals in an effort to provide motorists more time and information when approaching exits. 

Day work is scheduled for Monday, January 28th from 9:30am to 2:30pm.  Work will take place during evening hours through the remainder of the project – 8pm to 4:30am. 

The project is scheduled for completion on February 8th, weather permitting.

Temporary lane closures will be necessary during the installation of the signs – these areas will be reopened during non-working hours.  Closures are currently scheduled for:

• Northbound I-395 HOV ramp closed at 14th Street Bridge
• Northbound I-395 2 left lanes closed from 14th Street Bridge to 12th Street Expressway
• Southbound I-395 left lane closed from 12th Street to 14th Street Bridge.
