Traffic Signals Remain Dark; DDOT Traffic Control Officers on Scene

Media Contact:  Karyn Le Blanc at (202) 671-3490

(Washington, DC) Traffic signals remain dark in the area affected by the ongoing power outage in northwest DC. Some power has been restored but there are still approximately 25 intersections without power. DDOT’s Traffic Control Officers (TCOs) have been out on site since the outage occurred covering the major intersections. Those intersections that are not manned should be treated as four way stops. Delays were minimal this morning and currently no accidents reported.

The affected area is in northwest DC, between 9th and 13th Streets on the east and west, and between L Street and Florida Avenue on south and north.  Areas also affected include E Street and F Street, between 9th and 13th Streets, and New Jersey Avenue, between Florida Avenue and N Street.

Metro continues to experience some delays and some stations are closed including the Dupont Circle station.  Additional information can be found on the WMATA website at www.wmata.com.
