WASHINGTON, DC — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to close 1st Street, NE, between G Street and Massachusetts Avenue, beginning on or about Tuesday, September 23, 2008, for paving and utility work. The roadway will reopen in mid-November, weather permitting.

During construction, vehicular traffic will be diverted to North Capitol Street via G Street, NE. The contractor will work with property managers to maintain access to the adjacent buildings. Also, there will be pedestrian access to Union Station from 1st Street at all times.
