The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) along with Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) are on-site at a water main break on 16th Street between R and S Streets in northwest. DC Water and Sewer Authority (WASA) crews have begun work and estimate repairs could take a minimum of 8 hours. DDOT Road Operation Patrols and Traffic Control Officers have been deployed to assist with traffic. Due to the nature of the work only one way in each direction (northbound and southbound) will be maintained. Motorists headed northbound for afternoon rush hour are advised to expect delays and/or to detour and use 14th, 15th or 18th Streets, NW.
