Lane Closure on D Street, SW
Closure Necessary for Work on 11th Street Bridge

Media Contact:  John Lisle at (202) 671-2004

The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) has closed one of the eastbound lanes of D Street, SW for work on the overhead 11th Street Bridge. The lane closure is necessary to give crews space to work safely on the rehabilitation of the concrete abutment on the southeast side of the bridge.

During the construction, one eastbound lane and one westbound lane will remain open to traffic on D Street. In addition, the sidewalk on the south side of D Street will be closed and pedestrians will have to use the sidewalk on the north side.

It is anticipated that the closed lane on D Street will reopen in late April, 2009.
