The rehabilitation of the 9th and 10th Street, SW Bridges will require temporary lane and shoulder closures on I-395 south and the Southwest Freeway, beginning Sunday night, December 7, 2008. The lane and shoulder closures will be between the 9th and 10th Street, SW Bridge crossings.
The closures will be limited to the night-time hours, beginning at 9:00 pm and reopening by 5:00 am daily. The work is expected to take approximately three weeks and will be completed on or about Monday, December 22, 2008. In most cases crews will close a single lane, except on Tuesday, December 9 when 2 lanes will be closed.
The work being done includes the installation of a protective shield on the underside of the 9th Street Bridge and the installation of temporary concrete barriers.
