Crews Continue to Repair Sinkhole in Georgetown
Possible Delays along Wisconsin Avenue near Q Street, NW during Rush Hour

Media Contact:  Karyn Le Blanc, (202) 671-3490

The District Department of Transportation and WASA have been coordinating efforts as WASA works to repair a sinkhole on the northwest corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Q Streets, NW. WASA crews worked through the evening last night and are expected to continue through to the early morning hours on Saturday, Febuary 14th.

The work zone is currently located in the southbound curb/parking lane on Wisconsin Avenue and around the corner to the north side of Q Street. There are no street closures but traffic delays for afternoon rush are anticipated and motorists may want to use alternate routes. There are no impacts to businesses and those in the area remain open.

DDOT has put in place Variable Message Signs to forewarn motorists and will dispatch Traffic Control Officers to assist during the afternoon rush hour.
