Update: Repair Project on K Street, NW
Westbound lane closure this weekend, but milling and paving work rescheduled for May 1.

Media Contact:  John Lisle at (202) 671-2004

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) would like to update residents and motorists on the streetscape project along K Street, NW. The work includes the repair of sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and the repaving of the roadway between 12th and 18th Streets.

The project is on schedule to be completed by May 15, 2009, weather permitting. However, the milling and paving of the roadway, which was originally expected to start tonight, has been rescheduled to begin on Friday, May 1. That work will be done at night to minimize the impact on traffic.

Also, on Saturday, April 18, one westbound lane of K Street will be closed between 17th Street and Connecticut Avenue, NW. Crews will be installing a concrete bus pad in the roadway. The work will start at 7 am Saturday morning and will be completed by 5 am on Monday, April 20. One lane will remain open for westbound traffic and motorists should stay to the left to get by. Please be advised that delays are possible and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work.

Should you have any problems, concerns or suggestions please contact the Project Engineer, Mr. Jaswant Matharu, at (202) 671-4686.
