(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to do road paving work in the curb lane on the westbound side of Benning Road, NE on Monday, April 27. The work will be conducted between 9:30 am and 7 pm, and westbound traffic will be restricted to one lane between 21th Street, NE and Oklahoma Avenue, NE. Traffic delays are anticipated and motorists are advised to plan alternate routes if possible.

The work is expected to be completed in one day. However, it requires good weather and if the work is postponed the alternate dates are April 28 and 30.

The three Metro Bus stops in this area will remain open except when paving is occurring directly in front of the bus stop.

This week, Mayor Fenty and DDOT Director Gabe Klein announced crews will work double shifts to complete the paving of two lanes on both sides of Benning Road by mid-August. For more information about the project, please visit our website at ddot.dc.gov.
