Heavy Rains Leave High Water on District Streets
Motorists Reminded to Use Caution

(Washington DC) Heavy rains overnight have left high water on several District streets and created potentially dangerous conditions for drivers. Motorists are advised not to drive through high water on the roadways; they could lose control of their vehicle or the engine could stall.

Several streets are closed due to high waters including:

  • Rhode Island Avenue, NE from 4th to 9th Streets
  • Mt. Olivet Road, NE from West Virginia Avenue to Trinidad Avenue
  • 700 block of 13th Street, NE

There is also reports of at least one tree down in Northeast. Residents are reminded to call the Mayor’s Call Center at 311 to report storm damage.
