TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Weekend Events and Road Closures
Two Events Scheduled That Could Impact Traffic

(Washington, DC) — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising residents, workers and visitors that the following special events scheduled for this weekend could impact traffic in the District.

Light the Night Walk

This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 17. The following roads will be closed from 7 am on October 17 to 2 am on October 18:

  • 13th Street, NW between Pennsylvania Avenue & E Street
  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between 12th & 14th Streets

Bike DC Community Ride

This event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 17. There are two courses that begin in the District and finish in Arlington. Organizers have provided the following information about road closures. Please note that the roads along the routes will be reopened as soon as the course has been cleared.

In The District

Event Setup:

  • 10th Street, NW between Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue will be closed from 6 am to 10:30 am.
  • Constitution Avenue, NW between 9th and 12th Streets, will be closed from 6 am to 10 am.

Event:

The following streets will be closed from 7 am to approximately 10 am:

  • Constitution Avenue from 9th Street, NW to 2nd & Maryland Avenue, NE (eastbound)
  • Maryland Avenue, NE from 2nd Street to 1st Street
  • Constitution Avenue, NE (westbound) from 1st Street to 15th Street
  • 15th Street, NW from Constitution Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue

The following streets will be closed from 7 am to approximately 10:30 am:

  • Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 15th to 21st Street, NW
  • 21st Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue to Massachusetts Avenue (westbound)
  • Massachusetts Avenue, NW (westbound) from 21st to 34th Street
  • 30th Street, NW from Massachusetts Avenue to Fulton Street
  • Fulton Street, NW from Massachusetts Avenue to 34th Street
  • Klingle Road, NW from 32nd to 34th Street
  • Woodley Road, NW from 32nd to 34th Street
  • 21st Street, NW from Massachusetts Avenue to K Street
  • K Street, Whitehurst Freeway (westbound) from 21st Street, NW to the Key Bridge

The southbound Key Bridge into Virginia will be closed from 7-11 am.

In Arlington

The George Washington Memorial Parkway (northbound) from Key Bridge to the Chain Bridge exit will be closed from 7-11 am.

The following streets will be closed from 9:15 am to approximately 12 pm:

  • North Lynn Street from the GW Parkway northbound on ramp to Wilson Boulevard
  • Wilson Boulevard from North Lynn Street to Jefferson Davis Highway, Route 110, Route 1 (northbound)
  • Jefferson Davis Highway, Route 110 (northbound) from Wilson Boulevard to 15th Street South
  • North Marshall Drive from Route 110 to the Marine Corps Memorial
  • Washington Boulevard, Route 27 from Route 110 to Columbia Pike
  • Columbia Pike from Route 27 to the Air Force Memorial

15th Street South from Route 1 to Crystal Drive (southbound) will be closed from 9:30 am to 12 pm.

Event Finish:

Crystal Drive from 15th Street to 20th Street will be closed from 9:15 am to 2 pm.
