Multiple Closures of Outbound 11th Street Bridge Ramps to MLK Avenue and Anacostia Drive

Media Contact: John Lisle at (202) 486-5838

(Washington, DC) — As part of the 11th Street Bridge Project, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is scheduled to perform work on Friday, February 19 that will require temporarily closing the ramps from the outbound 11th Street Bridge to Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Anacostia Drive.

The ramps will be closed for multiple 20-minute intervals between 12 and 5 am Friday morning to allow contractors to remove an overhead sign structure. However, access to southbound Interstate 295 will be maintained at all times.

In preparation for this work, beginning at 7:30 pm on Thursday, February 18, contractors will close the left hand lane across the outbound bridge. All lanes and ramps will be reopened to traffic by 5 am.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures and work will be rescheduled for either Tuesday, February 23 or Wednesday, February 24, and an updated traffic advisory will be issued.
