Paving Restoration Set For North Capitol Street, NE

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin paving restoration of the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NE, to the 2300 block of North Capitol Street, NE, on September 5, 2006. Construction is scheduled to be completed on October 13, 2006, weather permitting. Crews will work during the hours of 8 pm to 5 am, Monday through Friday and from 7 am to 7 pm on Saturdays.

The resurfacing of the street will include milling old asphalt, sealing existing joints, laying new asphalt and installing permanent line striping. During this construction, at least one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained. Due to the restoration work being done, curbside parking will not be permitted. DDOT encourages residents to use side streets for parking during the work period.
