DDOT Announces Upcoming Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Lane and Ramp Closure

Contact (Media Only): Erik Linden (202) 671-2004

(Washington, DC) The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) is advising motorists of the closure of the following access ramp as part of the repair of the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge.

Ramp C (from Route 50 in Virginia to eastbound Theodore Roosevelt Bridge) will be closed from 10 pm on Saturday, September 30, through 6 am on Sunday, October 1, weather permitting.  Signs will direct motorists to detour routing. The I-66 eastbound approach will be reduced to one lane during this time period.

Work on the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge continues as scheduled, with a projected completion in December 2006.

The $6.9 million rehabilitation project consists of a concrete deck overlay and repair of the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge over the Potomac River. Repairs include concrete repair to the deck surface, replacement of the existing joint assemblies at the abutments and other upgrades.
