(Washington, DC) The District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) advises motorists of upcoming closures of the following traffic lanes as part of the ongoing repair of the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge.
Drivers will see lane restrictions on the westbound Theodore Roosevelt Bridge from 8 pm Friday, October 20 through 5 pm on Saturday, October 21.
Westbound lanes will be restricted to two lanes on the mainline up to the ramps to Route 50 and the George Washington Parkway. One lane will remain open to I-66 and one lane will remain open to the ramps. The closures are weather permitting.
Work on the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge continues as scheduled, with a projected completion in December 2006. The $6.9 million rehabilitation project consists of a concrete deck overlay and repair of the Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Bridge over the Potomac River. Repairs include concrete repair to the deck surface, replacement of the existing joint assemblies at the abutments and other upgrades.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the work zone.
