The Department on Disability Services is on the Move!

The Department on Disability Services aims to improve service delivery with renovation and co-location activities.

The Department on Disability Services (DDS) is putting the finishing touches on a major building renovation that brings both the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) together under one roof with the full support of all of the DDS administrative functions. This co-location allows persons with disabilities to have better access and coordination of services provided by the two major disability service administrations. DDS has realized this renovation and co-location at the 1125 15th Street, NW, Washington DC 20005, the DDS building address, while significantly reducing leased space, better utilizing functional space, streamlining work areas and more effectively using of technology.

Effective September 21st, the Developmental Disabilities Administration moves into their newly renovated space at 1125 15th Street, NW. The Service Coordination Division of DDA now uses laptop computers and cell phones to maintain better communication and increase efficiency in the field where direct services are delivered.

Effective September 25th the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) will also relocate to newly renovated space. After the 25th, RSA will no longer be located at 810 First Street NE, but joins the rest of the DDS family at 1125 15th Street, NW. The 1125 15th Street location is convenient to both the Farragut North Metro stop (Red Line) and the McPherson Square Metro Stop (Blue and Yellow line).

DDS has established a centralized reception area for all visitors to DDS (RSA and DDA); beginning September 28th, visitors should check in at the first floor Reception/Intake area. All visitors to DDS must show identification upon entering the building.

All telephone numbers and email addresses for DDS employees remain unchanged.

For more information, please contact the DDS main number at (202) 730-1700.
