(Washington, DC) The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is soliciting applications under the HOME Investment Partnership Fund (HOME) to support and preserve affordable housing in the District. HOME is funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Federal HOME Regulations that govern this agreement permit DHCD to spend up to 5% of its fiscal year HOME Allocation on operating expenses for qualified Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs).
The purpose of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to solicit applications for HOME CHDO Operating grant funds from certified CHDOs to support the development of affordable housing in the District. Awardees under this RFA must be certified as CHDOs by DHCD by the time of grant execution. Funding under this notice will be available in FY 2007, beginning on March 1, 2007. Applicants will be required to provide some information on the projects and activities to be undertaken which support the operating expenses incurred under these grants.
