The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) announces the availability of the Final “Fiscal Year 2008 Consolidated Annual Action Plan for the District of Columbia.” The Annual Action Plan is a statement of the strategic goals that the Department intends to undertake during Fiscal Year (FY) 2008. The plan is also DHCD’s application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for funding.
The Annual Action Plan was approved by the Mayor and the Council in July and submitted to HUD today. It specifically addresses how DHCD will use funding from the following federal entitlement programs:
- Community Development Block Grant Program
- HOME Investment Partnerships Program
- Emergency Shelter Grant Program
- Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program (HOPWA)
” The Action Plan reflects the Administration’s objectives in connection with the social, housing and economic needs of the District, the input of its communities and the mission of DHCD,” said Leila Finucane Edmonds, DHCD Director. “DHCD held six public hearings prior to the completion of this plan, so that District residents, advocates, and other stakeholders were able to provide input into DHCD’s activities for the upcoming fiscal year. The result is a Plan that reflects the needs and desires of the community.”
The Annual Action Plan is available below. It is also available at DHCD, located at 801 North Capitol Street, NE (8th Floor).
