The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) announces the availability of the District of Columbia Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER) for Fiscal Year 2007. In FY 2007, the Department funded 2,773 units of affordable housing, helped 513 persons become first-time homebuyers, provided 3,292 small businesses with technical assistance and provided comprehensive housing counseling to more than 19,079 residents.
The document provides information on the local and federal dollars spent on efforts to preserve affordable housing, assist residents in becoming homeowners, promote community development, assist persons living with AIDS with housing and support services, and provide housing and support to homeless persons. The CAPER is the District of Columbia’s report to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on its progress in meeting the goals of the FY 2007 Consolidated Action Plan.
