The Department of Housing and Community Development has released the updated “Draft Fiscal Year 2009 Consolidated Annual Action Plan for the District of Columbia” (“the Plan”). This plan reflects feedback received from the community and other stakeholder at the March 19 Public Hearing.
The Plan provides details on how the Department will utilize funding under the following federal entitlement grants for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD):
- Community Development Block Grant Program
- HOME Investment Partnerships Program
- Emergency Shelter Grant Program
- Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program (HOPWA)
DHCD anticipates that the Plan will be submitted to the City Council for approval in April. The Council will then hold a Public Hearing, and at that time the public will be provided with an additional opportunity to comment. The approved plan will be submitted to the HUD no later than August 15.
