(Washington, DC) - Draft guidelines for the Department of Housing and Community Development’s Tenant Purchase programs are now available for comment. The guidelines will apply to DHCD’s underwriting procedures for properties funded under the Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA). TOPA allows tenants in buildings that are offered for sale the first opportunity to purchase the building. DHCD has funded more than 1,000 units with this program since 2002.
The public comment period will continue until Sunday, August 31, 2008. All comments should be sent to Tenant.Purchase@dc.gov .
