(Washington, DC) - The Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will move at the end of the month from 801 North Capitol Street, NE to the Anacostia Gateway Government Center at 1800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, SE, 20020.  All DHCD divisions including those located at 941 North Capitol Street will relocate to the new building in historic Anacostia.

Regular business hours will resume at the new location on 8:15 am on Monday, February 2, 2009. All department phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.

The Housing Service Center will be located on the second floor until the completion of the first floor customer service area. Signs directing constituents to the second floor will be posted at the building’s entrance.

The Anacostia Gateway Government Center is located at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Good Hope Road, SE and is accessible by car, the Anacostia Metrorail Station and numerous bus routes along Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE.

DHCD’s mission is to create and preserve opportunities for affordable housing and economic development and to revitalize underserved communities in the District of Columbia.
