DHCD to Hold Community Foreclosure Prevention Clinic in Ward 5 - Releases

(Washington, DC) - The Department of Housing and Community Development will hold a FREE Community Foreclosure Prevention Clinic on Saturday, August 1. The clinic will be held at Israel Baptist Church, located at 1251 Saratoga Avenue, NE, from 10 am – 2 pm. The clinic is open to all DC residents.

The event will begin with a one-hour presentation on how to avoid foreclosure scams, presented by DHCD and the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking. The remaining time will be dedicated to individual, one-on-one foreclosure counseling by HUD-approved and certified agencies.

For in-depth assistance, attendees should bring the following:

A copy of your mortgage agreement
Pay stubs (for employment & income verification)
Late notices or default letter from your lender
Copies of a credit report
