(Washington, DC) Mr. Jalal Greene, Director, Department of Housing and Community Development, invites the public to a Public Hearing on the “Draft Consolidated Plan for the District of Columbia Fiscal Year 2007 Action Plan.” The hearing will begin at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 801 North Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC, in the 9th Floor Board Room.
The purpose of the hearing is to provide the public with an opportunity to express views on the “Draft Consolidated Plan for the District of Columbia Fiscal Year 2007 Action Plan” and budgets to be submitted to the Mayor and Council of the District of Columbia for approval to transmit to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Action Plan addresses the following federal entitlement programs:
- Community Development Block Grant Program
- HOME Investment Partnerships Program
- Emergency Shelter Grant Program
- Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Program (HOPWA)
The Department will utilize this input from the public, consistent with the District’s economic development strategy, citywide strategic plan, and identified strategic target areas, to finalize the “Proposed Consolidated Plan for the District of Columbia Fiscal Year 2007 Action Plan.” The Council will announce and hold a public hearing on the Plan before approval.
