Special Mayor's Committee Hosts Forum for Persons with Disabilities in Citywide Emergency Plans

Emergency preparedness forum for District residents with disabilities. 

The Department of Human Services' Mayor's Committee on Persons with Disabilities (MCPD) will bring together local and federal emergency-related government agencies on Thursday, December 9, from 9 am to 12:30 pm at Gallaudet University's Kellogg Center, 800 Florida Avenue, NE, Washington, DC.  The interactive forum is primarily for DC residents with disabilities, their caregivers, advocates, and interested citizens, and will cover the District's citywide emergency plans. The event will feature guest speakers from various government agencies, including Alan Clive, Civil Rights Program Manager for the DC Emergency Management Agency; Dr. Phil Terry, Executive Director of the National Capital Area of the American Red Cross; Carl Cameron, President of the Inclusion Research Institute and representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
