Dear Readers,
The District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) introduces you to a new The Capital Connection, which has been separated into a consumer edition and a business edition to fine tune its focus on the information needs for its different readership.
As the premier regulator for all financial businesses in the District of Columbia, DISB strives to provide relevant and timely information to the businesses we regulate and the consumers we serve and protect. Due to the onslaught of information that the agency presents, we have decided to separate the newsletters so they will be more relevant to you.
It should be worth noting that the bi-monthly newsletters for the consumers will be published both in hard copies and online at DISB’s website at disb.dc.gov. The business edition will be an online document only, and will be sent by e-mail to the business and industry contacts.
This year’s newsletters promise to be exciting and packed with usable information. As you probably know, the District’s new Mayor Adrian M. Fenty has reappointed DISB Commissioner Thomas E. Hampton. For this first issue of the newly restructured The Capital Connection, DISB will feature some of its 2007 priorities including the agency’s branding campaign and its renewed focus on public communications and consumer education. We intend to have bigger and bolder photographs with easy-to-read content.
We hope that you will find something in our newsletter pages that keeps you coming back for more.
Happy Reading!!
