Beautification Day will be held this year on Saturday, August 23, 2008, from 8 am to 1 pm. This annual event was established in 2005 as a citywide “spruce up” of all DC public school buildings in preparation for the first day of school.
Beautification efforts will include landscaping, trash pick-up, light painting, planting flowers, and other external beautification efforts. Volunteers are needed at 114 schools.
Chancellor Michelle Rhee invites parents, teachers, students and the community to assist with the beautification efforts and encourages you to register now.
