DMH Staff to Share Knowledge at Women and Girls Conference

(Washington, DC)  Two DC Department of Mental Health Community Services Agency employees will conduct workshops at the September 30 Women and Girls conference sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Xi Omega Chapter and the University of the District of Columbia.  Ruth Smith Landry, chief pharmacist, will conduct a workshop entitled “Drugs and You,” and Frances Alves, MSW, LPC, Clinical Manager, will conduct an interactive stress management workshop. Both employees are with the DMH DC Community Services Agency. The conference, “Sisters Sharing:  Building Foundations for the Future,” will be held at the UDC Van Ness Campus, Building 46, 4200 Connecticut Avenue, NW.  The conference promotes positive thinking, healthy choices, and financial well-being for women and girls, creating a sound foundation for their future. Pre-registration is required and can be completed by going to www.akaxo.org.

“DMH is very fortunate to have employees whose commitment to community involvement leads them to participate in this conference,” said DMH Director Stephen T. Baron. “DMH encourages employees to share their knowledge with residents to promote sound mental health.”
