(Washington, DC) For the third consecutive year, RFK Memorial Stadium, home to the Washington Nationals and DC United, will be recruiting workers to fill more than 1,000 available job openings. The “Third Season Job Fair” will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the DC National Guard Armory, 2100 East Capitol Street, SE. The job fair, which marks the Department of Employment Services’ (DOES) third recruitment effort on behalf on the RFK Stadium, will begin promptly at 9 am and end at 2 pm.
All job seekers interested in part-time seasonal positions at the RFK Stadium are encouraged to attend the job fair and apply for available jobs. Preference will be given to qualified District residents. Leading employers and co-sponsors of the job fair, the DC Sports & Entertainment Commission, ARAMARK, and Contemporary Services Corporation, are recruiting for event staff and attendants, concession stand supervisors and workers, crowd management personnel, grill cooks, and runners. All job seekers are urged to bring extra copies of their résumés and come prepared for pre-screening interviews.
“Work opportunities at RFK are plentiful,” says Susan O. Gilbert, Interim Director of the Department of Employment Services, adding that candidates should come to the job fair prepared to compete for the openings. “These positions are not only for sports-related activities, but also for concerts and other entertainment activities held at the stadium.” Previous Grand Slam Job Fairs have attracted more than 3,000 job seekers, of which 86% of new hires were District residents.
