(Washington, DC)  The DC Department of Employment Services has partnered with the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local No. 99 to recruit workers interested in the Stationary Engineer Trade.  Applications for the apprenticeships are being accepted Monday, May 7 through Friday May 11 at the Operating Engineers Union Local No, 99, located at 2461 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, from 9 am to 3 pm.

To qualify for an apprenticeship in the stationary engineer trade, applicants must be 18 years old and be physically fit to perform the duties of the trade.  While a high school diploma or GED is not mandatory, applicants must submit a copy of their high school transcript for each grade attended.  Other required documents include a driver’s license or other form of government-issued photo ID, and a copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.  District residents interested in this trade are especially urged to apply.
