DC Employment Services Wins Prestigious NASWA Award
Award cites the Department for Excellence in providing quality information to District job seekers.

(Washington, DC)  The National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA), a national organization of state administrators of unemployment insurance laws, employment services, training programs, employment statistics, and labor market information, honored the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) with the coveted 2007 Labor Market Information (LMI) Communications Publication Award. The award was presented this month at the organization’s LMI Director’s conference in Seattle, Washington.

The department accepted the award for its series of three Employment Guidebooks, which were prepared to give job seekers relevant and timely information on the Construction, Hospitality, and Public Service industries.  The award acknowledges the department’s excellence in providing quality information in the category of Product or Service Disseminating Industry and/or Occupational Employment Projections to Customers.

“This is quite an honor for us,” said DOES Director Summer Spencer. “Providing our residents with quality information that will help them to make smart decisions about their professional goals and interests is fundamental to what we do at this agency. I am thrilled that we were recognized with this important award.”
