(Washington, DC)  The DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) announced today that the Euclid Street Satellite One-Stop Career Center, located at 1704 Euclid Street, N.W., will no longer be in operation effective Monday, December 31, 2007. Clients of the Euclid Street Center are encouraged to go to one of the following one-stop career centers for services:

•  Franklin One-Stop Career Center, 1500 Franklin Street, NE
•  Naylor One-Stop Career Center, 2626 Naylor Road One-Stop Career Center, SE
•  South Capitol One-Stop Career Center/CVS pharmacy 4049 South Capitol Street, SW

The Euclid Street Career Center began operations in January 2003 in the Adams Morgan community.  Established in partnership with the District’s Office of Latino Affairs and the Ward 1 Community, the center offered its clients – many of whom were non-English speaking residents – the vocational training necessary to improve their labor market prospects.

“Although we are closing this facility, we plan to co-locate some of our satellite centers at other locations within the community,” said Summer Spencer, Director of the Department of Employment Services.  “We will also ensure that our full-service centers have qualified bilingual professionals readily available to assist our non- and limited-English speaking clients.  I will ensure that our residents are afforded quality employment and training services.”
