(Washington, DC)  The Department of Employment Services (DOES) and the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) today announced the opening of two new Satellite One-Stop Career and Information Centers, which will provide local residents with easy-to-access to employment-related services and information.  The new centers will be co-located at the Emery Recreation Center, 5701 Georgia Avenue, NW, opening on Monday, January 7, 2008 and Columbia Heights Recreation Center, 1480 Girard Street, NW, opening Tuesday, January 8, 2008. 

The One-Stop Centers will serve as centralized hubs for providing local residents with access to information on workforce training, job openings, and business opportunities in the Washington metropolitan area.  Information about apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs will also be available, as well as updates on skills enhancement workshops and local job fairs.  Center schedules are as follows:
