(Washington, DC)  The DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) announced that effective June 19, 2009 the Columbia Heights Satellite Career and Information Center will temporarily change hours of operation for the summer months. 

Career services and employment information will be provided at the Columbia Heights Career Center, located at 1480 Girard Street, NW, during the following alternate hours of operation: The Mobile Career Center will operate 9 am to 4 pm on Monday and the center will open from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

Information and career services are also available at several other Career Centers in the District, including the Emery Satellite Career and Information Center. The Emery Career Center, at 5801 Georgia Avenue, NW is open Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 4 pm. Job postings and other career services are also available on the web at www.dcnetworks.org

The Columbia Heights Center is co-located within a DC Department of Parks and Recreation facility.  The temporary change in hours is necessary to accommodate a summer program sponsored by the Department of Recreation at that location.  These hours will remain in effect until further notice.

DOES is in the process of determining the facility needs for all Career Centers District-wide.  As part of this citywide process, efforts are underway to find a suitable location for a new Career Center in the Columbia Heights area.
