New Construction Projects in the District Need Workers; DOES Sponsors Job Fair

(Washington, DC)  District residents interested in job opportunities in the building trades are urged to attend the upcoming Construction Projects in DC Career Recruitment Fair announced today by the Department of Employment Services. The recruitment fair, which will be held at the Washington Renaissance Hotel at 999 9th Street, NW, on Friday, July 21, 2006, is jointly sponsored by the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) and Clark/Hunt/Smoot. The fair will be held from 10 am to 2 pm.

According to the sponsors of the event, the fair will feature career opportunities in construction for carpenters, masons, electricians, and workers with other building-trades skills. These opportunities are for experienced construction workers as well as entry level workers who are 18 years of age or older.  Those attending the fair should bring a picture ID and be prepared to complete an employment application.

Participants in the Career Recruitment Fair will include labor unions and construction industry employers.
