Re-Entry Program Aids Ex-Offenders with Job Training and Placement

(Washington, DC)  Twenty-two ex-offenders will have a “second chance” at self-sufficiency, through the Project Empowerment Plus (PE+) Re-entry Program.  This federally funded program is operated under the auspices of the Deputy Mayor for Children, Youth, Families, and Elders, in conjunction with the Department of Employment Services and several government and private organizations.

A graduation ceremony will be held to mark the first phase of each participant’s transition from incarceration into the work place.  Project Empowerment Plus is committed to minimize recidivism by offering program participants full access to the resources and services necessary to become law-abiding, productive citizens.
