(Washington, DC) Local unions will be recruiting for apprentices in all trade areas at the Union Trades Apprenticeship and Employment Recruitment Fair, which will be co-sponsored by the DC Department of Employment Services and the Community Services Agency of the Metropolitan Washington Labor Council, AFL-CIO. The fair will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at the new Washington Convention Center, Hall E, from 10 am to 6 pm.
The unions will be recruiting District residents with existing skills in the building trades to be hired as journey workers. An estimated 1,200 new apprentices will be accepted in all trades through 2006.
