The DC Department of Health (DOH) announced today that next week’s H1N1 vaccine clinics will be at Department of Parks and Recreation Centers around the District. The move will allows DOH to use larger spaces for giving out the vaccine and provide more indoor space for residents to wait in as the weather turns colder. The vaccine will continue to be given out at no cost. DOH also announced that residents can reach a dedicated H1N1 call center to find out more about the clinics, the vaccine and other H1N1 information by calling the Mayor’s Citywide Call center at 311.

The H1N1 vaccine clinics will continue to serve the following priority groups in every ward once a week for the next two weeks:

  • Pregnant women and youth ages 6 months to 24 years
  • Adults with underlying health conditions such as asthma and diabetes ages 25-64 years
  • Caregivers of children under 6 months
  • Healthcare workers

Residents can find regular updates and additional information on H1N1 at flu.dc.gov in addition to calling the Mayor’s Citywide Call Center at 311.
